Dr. Jocelyn Shin

Born in Seoul, South Korea. Moved to the United States at 6 years of age. Grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore County, MD.

Attended University of Maryland, College Park (Home of the Terrapins!) for undergrad and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. After graduating from college, I took 2 years off working in the dental field to gain more exposure and to be sure dentistry was the profession I wanted to pursue. Worked the 1^st year as a dental assistant in a school based sealant program targeting 2^nd and 3^rd graders in low income areas of Baltimore County and the following year as a receptionist / dental assistant in a well established oral and maxillofacial surgery office. The two years of work experience definitely solidified my interest in dentistry prior to entering dental school in the fall of 2006 at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. During the 4 years of dental school education, I was on the dean's list for academic achievement and was inducted into the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society as well as the Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society.

In my free time I like to catch up with friends, treat myself to some delicious froyo and spend time with my husband, my baby daughter and our sweet but very vocal hot-dog.
